Dear Editor,

In the most recent edition of the Orange & Blue, you wrote an article entitled "Lack of interest leaves SGA cabinet seats open." In this article, several important items were left out that I feel should have been mentioned. The article as it reads now makes it sound as though SGA hasn't done much and will continue not to because of lacking numbers and a small budget. Even though those two problems are a setback, SGA has done, and will continue to do, many good things this school year. For example, we have provided approximately $1500.00 in grants to several CN student organizations to help them carry out their goals and visions for our campus. Our Secretary of Finance Sarah Purkey keeps track of these grant petitions and the allotted funds available for this purpose on behalf of our organization. Additionally, the SGA newsletter was created this fall and continues to offer a practical avenue for communication and information. And while you did mention this in your article, it should have also been made known that the newsletter was the pet project of myself, and that I have been assisted in its creation by our advisor Brent McLemore. Also, there was a campus wide game of assassins headed up by Secretary of Projects and Services Brad Qualls to raise money for a spring campus beautification project. And in addition to the aforementioned items, there are numerous ideas and pieces of legislation constantly being introduced by members of the SGA. I myself have recently put forth a bill that would change final exam testing hours to make the earliest exam slot run from 9:00am-11:00am as opposed to 8:00am-10:00am. This bill will hopefully be passed by SGA Senate and then sent in the near future to the appropriate college authorities for consideration. I will also be hosting two forums prior to Spring Break, an administrative forum and a student services forum, which will allow students the opportunity to communicate with college administration from various areas on campus and propose questions or concerns they may have. Likewise, these forums will provide an opportunity for college administrators to share relevant information with students and receive student feedback. Besides being in line with my own goals as SGA Campus Life Secretary, both forums are also in line with SGA President Andrew Ingalls' goal of continuing to open up the lines of communication between students and college administration.

Thank you for your time,

Brad Keaton
