As the community comes off the hype of Halloween, the librarians are planning a suspenseful night in the library on November 6 at 7 p.m.

Mystery in the Library allows students and members of the community to sort out clues in hopes of finding the culprit of a crime.

Last year, students were given clues before entering the library and sought to solve a murder mystery.

"The best part was figuring out who did it. If not taken correctly, the clues could be very misleading and throw you off to thinking one person was guilty, when the clue beforehand had just eliminated that very person as being guilty…it was interesting," says Liatesha Payne, who attended the Mystery in the Library last year.

This year's participants will be vampire hunters. Students will work in teams of five or six as they roam the floors of the dark library. The teams will be searching for clues to figure out who is the vampire.

All participants will receive a free gift, and the winners will claim a secret prize.

A pre-mystery concert will be held on the night of the 6th from 6-7:00 p.m. The group performing will be A.M.P.S. (Absent Minded Professors), consisting of Larry Osbourne, Ernest Lee, Joc Collins, Brian Austin, and Ray Dalton. Refreshments will be served and Dr. Osbourne will also be selling copies of his newly released album.

"[The pre-show is intended] to draw students in, and give them a chance to see some of their very own professors rocking the mic," says Kelli Williams of the library staff.

Tickets for the event will be given out upon request starting the morning of November 2, 2009 up until the actual event date. Students who want to attend should get their free tickets as soon as possible, because the event can only accommodate 50 people.
