Post Season is drawing ever closer and things are heating up at Mossy Creek despite the weather getting colder. The women's soccer team is 11-0 and they are not the only ones on a winning streak. Volleyball is on a 5 game win streak and Football has not lost in the past four. The men's soccer team had a heart aching lost to Lincoln Memorial in front of a large home crowd but redeemed themselves with a win over Lenoir-Rhyne later in the week. Cross Country's Brooke Earheart took her first individual college win at Belmont Abbey.

Football-The Eagles had a dominating performance against Mars Hill, beating the Lions 55-22. Quarterback, Alex Good completed 9 of 10 passes for 196-yards and one touchdown. Carson-Newman had 245- yards rushing for a grand total of 441-yards of total offense. Buck Wakefield had 3 touchdowns making it Wakefield's second three touchdown performance. The defense was their game, forcing four Mars Hill turnovers including a fumble return for a touchdown. Zeke Andrews recorded four tackles and two sacks to lead the way.

Women's Soccer- On Wednesday, the Lady Eagles defeated Tusculum 3-1. Carson-Newman scored first when Trenna Howell took the ball from the defense buried a shot inside the goal. Seven minutes later, Andrea Saevik got past the defenders to add a goal of her own. Tusculum scored with 10 minutes left in the half. Later in the second half, Lizeth Munguia scored off a corner kick from Trenna Howell.

On Saturday, the Lady Eagles continued to roll defeating Mars Hill 3-0. The first goal came in the 40:39 mark when Howell scored off a pass from Morgan Gruenenfelder. The second score did not come to the second half when Sandra Kaelin converted a penalty kick. The final goal came from Nikki Brannen when she put the ball past the goalie from three yards out.

Men's Soccer- On Wednesday, Carson-Newman fell to Lincoln Memorial 2-1. The Eagles outshot LMU 15-7. Fouls were a plenty with both teams racking up 53 combined fouls. LMU scored first in the seventh minute and it was not till the 41st minute that Carson-Newman responded with a goal off a deflected header put into the net by Ben Backstrom. In the second half, the Eagles controlled the ball but sadly, LMU was able to head the ball past Jordon Moore off a free kick.
