"The facility is not only unique, but will provide a wide array of locations for students to dance, eat, socialize, and enjoy the evening," said Alisha Watson, EPC Major Events Committee leader. "Students will also be able to take a break from dancing to visit the aquarium's shark tank, stingray pool, or any of the other displays. There will be something for everyone in this year's Spring Formal and I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity."
T-shirts will be given to the first 350 people that purchase tickets. The tickets, along with the t-shirts, will be delivered to the students' Carson-Newman mailboxes the week of formal. The formal tickets will also double as aquarium tickets and will provide admission to the aquarium that can be used at any time during that day.
A variety of soft drinks and water, as well as an assortment of cakes, pies, cookies, pastries, and other dessert items will be available at formal. Dinner will not be served at formal. According to the EPC staff, most students usually go out to eat before or after the formal.
Dress for the formal ranges from prom dresses to pant suits. Shelley Ball reminds students that there is no dress code, but to dress appropriately.
Students can purchase tickets for $25 at tables in the student activities center (MSAC) or in the cafeteria. Tickets will also be available at the door for $30. The formal will go from 8-midnight on Saturday, April 14.
