The Lady Eagles have begun their season with hopes of repeating last year's success. The 2009 SAC champions advanced to the Southeast SuperRegionals and finished the season 21st in the nation . They opened the season last weekend, traveling to South Carolina for three wins against Anderson and Erskine.
The men's basketball team broke a 5 game losing streak on senior night at Holt Feildhouse beating LMU 78-75. Senior guard Jordan Dixon had a career high 25 points as C-N swept past LMU in his final home game of the season. The Eagles, finishing 10-15 (overall), and 5-9 (SAC), were 21 of 27 from the free throw line and shot 9 of 17 from behind the arc.
Dedication and hard work have paid off senior basketballer Ashley Kyle, Kyle recently made her 1000th point of her career during the recent game against Mars Hill. Kyle started playing basketball when she was six years old. She played for a recreational team that her dad coached, but says she did not get much playing time because she was so small.
Baseball opened conference last weekend against the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters. The Eagles went into the weekend with a record of 3-2. In the first game after trailing the Railsplitters by nine runs, the Eagles came back and made it a two run deficit.
