Sen. Barack Obama campaigned in Greensboro last Saturday with running mate Sen. Joe Biden. Obama spoke at the rally less than 12 hours after wrapping up the first presidential debate with Sen. John McCain. Approximately 20,000 people stood in a light drizzle to hear the Democratic nominee for President speak primarily on the economy and domestic issues.

In Greek life, "Circle the Fat" is the least of some pledges' concerns. Hazing, supposedly intended to measure a pledge's loyalty to their fraternity or sorority, can result in anything from mild humiliation to death.

One fraternity at the University of Illinois allegedly required one pledge class to raise a puppy for a week and ultimately kill it.

ETSU's recycling program goes well beyond the recycling bins that were placed across campus last fall and are now fairly well recognized - the blue wire racks for plastic and aluminum bottles and the red plastic bins for paper and cardboard.

The program also recycles scrap metal, oil, tires, batteries, ink cartridges and e-waste.
